By using Phase, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What Phase Is
Phase is a personal journaling application designed to help you reflect on your thoughts, track your mood, and maintain personal records. It stores all data locally on your device with encryption.
Important: Phase is NOT a medical device, medical software, or healthcare service. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition.
Not Medical Advice
Phase includes features like mood tracking, medication logging, and wellness exercises. These are for personal organization and reflection only.
- Phase does not provide medical advice or recommendations
- Medication tracking is a personal convenience feature, not a prescription management system
- Mood tracking is for personal insight, not clinical diagnosis
- Breathing exercises and DBT tools are educational, not therapeutic treatment
Always consult qualified healthcare professionals for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you've recorded in Phase.
Your Responsibilities
When using Phase, you agree to:
- Backup your data — We provide export tools, but you're responsible for backups
- Protect your passphrase — If you lose it, we cannot recover your data
- Keep your device secure — Phase's encryption doesn't protect an unlocked device
- Use it lawfully — Don't use Phase for illegal purposes
Data & Privacy
Your data belongs to you. Period.
- All data is stored locally on your device
- We have no servers that store your journal entries
- We cannot access, read, or recover your data
- You can export or delete your data at any time

Limitation of Liability
Phase is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:
- Data loss due to device failure, accidental deletion, or forgotten passphrases
- Any decisions you make based on information in your journal
- Health outcomes related to medication tracking or mood logging
- Device security breaches outside our control
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
In no event shall Phase or its creators be liable for any damages exceeding the amount you paid for the app (which is $0, because Phase is free).
Acceptable Use
You may NOT use Phase to:
- Store illegal content
- Harm yourself or others (if you're in crisis, please reach out to professionals)
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
- Remove or alter any copyright notices
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms occasionally. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. For significant changes, we'll provide notice through the app.
Termination
You can stop using Phase at any time. Export your data first if you want to keep it. Uninstalling the app or clearing browser data will delete your local data permanently.
